Executive Summary
Q2 product update for the board
Onboarding revamp shipped two weeks ahead of plan and lifted activation from 28% to 41%. MCP launch landed with 6 enterprise design-partners signed. We are pacing 14% above the $400k Q2 MRR target with one month left, but Backend hiring is the bottleneck on the agent-platform roadmap.

01 · Progress
Onboarding revamp shipped on April 22
The 4-step wizard replaced the previous 6-step flow. Two-week post-launch numbers: activation up 13pp to 41%, time-to-first-publish down from 11 min to 7 min, and qualitative NPS comments shifted from "confusing" to "very clear" across 28 of 32 post-onboarding interviews. Carry-over: the invite-flow A/B is still running until May 30.
02 · Progress
MCP launch: 6 design-partners signed
Public launch on May 8 hit Hacker News (#3 for 4 hours) and TechCrunch coverage landed the day after. Six enterprise design-partners signed inside the first week — Stripe, Linear, Vercel, Granola, Cursor, and one we cannot name yet. All are committed to $50-80k ACV pilots through end of Q3. Two of them are already deep in integration.
03 · Risk
Backend hiring is the Q3 unlock
The agent-platform roadmap (durable workflows, multi-agent orchestration) is gated on two Staff Backend hires. Pipeline is thin — we have 3 strong candidates at the offer stage but two competing offers came in this week. Without both hires by July 1, the agent platform slips a full quarter. Mitigation: opening referrals to the whole company through end of June.
04 · Next
What is next
June priorities: close the two Backend offers, ship the agent-platform private beta to the 6 design-partners, and run the first end-to-end durable-workflow demo at AI Engineer Summit on June 19. July: open the agent platform to the public waitlist, publish the Q3 roadmap, kick off the Series A conversations we have been deferring.
Risks
- Backend hiring pipeline thin — two competing offers in flight on our top two candidates
- AWS bill scaling faster than revenue (+34% MoM vs +18% MRR) — Infra review scheduled for June 5
- One enterprise design-partner asked about SOC 2 — Tom has scoped Drata for the Q3 kickoff
Decisions needed
- Approve the $180k retention package for our top Backend candidate (offer expires June 2)
- Sign off on the AI Engineer Summit keynote slot ($30k sponsorship) — final answer needed by May 30
- Pick between Drata vs Vanta for SOC 2 — both quotes in your inbox
